Location

The Anchor is a 15 minute taxi-drive from Colchester station. Additionally, buses 84, 84A + 784, operated by the Chambers Bus Company, regularly leave the Station for Nayland village as well and drop off either outside the ‘Nayland, Doctors' Surgery’ & ‘Nayland Turning’, both a five minute walk respectively to the Anchor.

Coincidentally these same buses go on to the market town of Sudbury, (15 minutes by car). This historic market town is also on the River Stour which conveniently flows past Bures on the way to us in Nayland.

The Ancient Market town of Hadleigh, famous medieval village of Lavenham and Long Melford are in close proximity, with Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich easily accessible, especially as we are only 14 minutes off from the A12, the main trunk route from Ipswich to London.

Limited Mobility Access

The Anchor is a Grade Two listed building and as such is not easily accessible for anyone with limited mobility. While the main bar, and certain rooms for eating are on the ground floor and accessible without steps, The Upper Deck used for our Anchor Session events, as well as functions and at times an extension of our restaurant is up a flight of stairs. Naturally we always happy to help with access where possible; for any further information please contact us: info@anchornayland.co.uk
